Rushin' Bruisette #58
How long have you been skating?
My dad taught me how to skate when I was 4 years old at Fun Spot. I skated for the next 10 yrs. then quit during high school. I picked it back up at Spin City in September 2016 for Date the Crush.
Do you have any long term roller derby goals?
Jumping the Apex! I'm terrified of jumping on skates so this is something for me to overcome. And it's always a good crowd pleaser.
Do you have a derby wife?
No, I haven't found her yet, but maybe in the future.
What do you like to do outside of roller derby?
I'm a mom to two daughters. If they aren't keeping me busy, I run 5k's and hit the gym. I like to take my Jeep into the woods, geocaching, collect Funko Pops, and I watch UFC and movies of all types, though my favorites are any Batman ones.
Have you had any derby injuries?
My very first bout during our house season on Rollin’ Mafia, I went out as a blocker at the last second and lost my balance. I fell wrong on my right ankle, breaking my leg and dislocating the ankle. I went to the ER and managed to have surgery the same day. I am now the proud owner of a metal plate and 7 screws. And like the rest of the derby girls, I have had plenty of derby kisses on my legs, arms, and collarbone.
What is your least favorite roller derby drill?
Though, in the beginning, everything seemed pretty scary, cone jumping terrified me the most. I will do laps all day long, but cone jumping always chokes me up inside.
What motto do you live by?
"The question isn't 'can you?’ the question is 'will you?'"
