Britty BangBang #5150
Q: How long have you been skating?
A: Since March 2016, unless you count going to Funspot every Friday in the fourth grade lol.
Q: Tell us about your derby name and number.
A: Britty Bangbang comes from the song by Nancy Sinatra that appears in Kill Bill. It is also the name of my soap company. My number is 5150, which is the police code for "mentally insane, danger to themselves and others" which is humorous for derby but also a nod to my work as a social worker.
Q: What is your favorite thing about roller derby?
A: It is uplifting on a physical, mental, emotional, and social level. It brings me pride in myself as I grow as a player. It alleviates stress on a rough day. I have a group of sisters that have my back whether its letting me complain, giving me advice, or even putting me in my place.
Q: How many hours have you spent in a tattoo chair?
A: Too many and not enough! I have 9 tattoos and most of my half sleeve done. I have also had 19 various piercings.
Q: What is your favorite derby attire?
A: A tank, fishnets, derby kiss shorts, and knee socks.
Q: What do you do for a living?
I am a nanny, I also have have a soap and all natural toiletries business.
Q: Tell us something about yourself we don't know.
A: I was born with a hole in my head, which I recently read is a defect that is passed down from when we had gills!
Q: Who do you admire the most?
A: My grandma. She was a 19 year old German immigrant who raised 3 children by herself who all finished college, all while speaking no English and putting herself through nursing school. She learned English from soap operas!
Q: What motto do you live by?
A: Never let anyone be too sure of your sanity.
