Bone Picker
How long have you been skating? Since I’ve had kiddie skates that tie over your shoes, about age 5. Made it to a real rink at age 8, got my own skates with cool pom poms at 10 years old.
What are you looking for in a derby league? Usually it’s my gatorade, I am fairly happy to do whatever is needed as a volunteer, but I enjoy helping wall huggers the most.
What is your derby goal? Skate 25 laps in 5 minutes for me personally, best time so far is 5:48
What is your favorite Derby moment? Fav derby moment was being a “real derby mom”, called “Momma Trickchair” for my daughter “Ella Trickchair” and cheering for her with my big sign and watching her get lead jammer and score points, and hearing the announcer talk about 2000volts (her number). She played for Springfield Rollergirls in 2008.
What do you like to do outside of derby? Outside of derby, I volunteer for a beginning skills skating class, and volunteer cleaning dinosaurs bones (that’s why I chose my name Bone Picker. Other hobbies are paleontology, geology, sewing, etc.
What is your motto? Everything happens for a reason, you may not know why at the time it happens, but looking back, there’s always a reason…
Favorite food: Dark Chocolate non-pralines, I jokingly refer to them as “medicine”
What gets me going? Usually certain songs. Favorite fast beat songs…Freebird! Rollercoasters.
Tell us something people don’t know about you. At age 10 I sewed a flying nun costume out of fiberglass draperies (Think “Sound of Music movie-bad influence) on my treadle machine to wear to the roller skating party’s costume contest.. no one told me not to wear fiberglass….it was too itchy to skate all night in it!
Where are you from? Missouri
