Ami Evil
How long have you been skating? I put on my first pair of skates about the age of six. Skated every weekend at Skateland on Gravois all through high school… we thought that we were cool with our vinyl jackets with our name embroidered and school name and grad date… funny how now I am wearing a team track jacket with our logo, my derby name and number… I guess some things never really change.
What are you looking for in a derby league? I was searching for something that would allow me to regain my independence and build my self confidence. In addition, searching and hoping to find a group of women who have great character – were independent, intelligent and trustworthy. I have finally found a home and a family of guys and girls that I believe in and know that if I needed a friend, they would be there at any point in time.
What is your personal derby goal for this season? To continue to build my self confidence and become a stronger individual in mind and body.
What gets you going? WOW… that’s a loaded question. I’m a very private person… I think I will keep that to myself.. and … !
What do you like most about derby? Everything! Joining THIS team is the very best and most rewarding decision that I have ever made in my life. It has changed me as a person and I have gained the most amazing family through this… as well as a BIG FAT BUM!
Do you have a favorite derby moment? Joining derby with my sister in law, Cast Iron Killet. Joining this team together has brought us very close, she is the most amazing women and I lover her so very much.
Fav derby attire FISHNETS…. WOWZA….
What was your favorite concert? Purple Rain – Prince
Favorite non-swear word? per my friend Deb.. Cheese and Rice instead of the J C word….. of course.
Do you have a derby significant other? I LOVE MY SISTER IN LAW CAROL..
Who do you admire the most? My mother and deceased father. They are the most amazing people in my life. My momma birthed me.. so she gave me life and hasn’t killed me yet.. even though she wanted to when I got my tattoos and then told her I was playing derby… and my father for having a helping hand (well not hand) in giving me life and both in making me the person that I am today..
